Dallas Faith Communities Coalition Several members of Cienda Partners were appointed by the Mayor of Dallas to serve as the leadership team of the Dallas Faith Communities Coalition (“DFCC”). The DFCC works with both non-profit and for-profit homebuilders and volunteer talent from Dallas’ many faith communities to build affordable housing in the city and assist with the city’s new homeless shelter.
Dallas Area Habitat For Humanity Several members of Cienda Partners have served as presidents of Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, which has grown to become the city’s 7th largest homebuilder, having built over $35 million of single-family homes and spurred over $85 million of other new home construction. An affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Dallas Habitat builds quality affordable homes in partnership with deserving families. Cienda Partners continues its involvement with Dallas Habitat with financial support and by serving on its Advisory Board.
Trinity Strand Trail Cienda Partners is one of the two founders of the Trinity Strand Trail and continues to serve on the Board of the Old Trinity Trail (FOOTT). A key part of the vision for the Old Trinity River corridor is a hike and bike trail -- the Old Trinity Trail -- which will be used for recreation, but more importantly, it will connect residential areas with commercial areas. The trail is envisioned to run along the old channel of the Trinity River. Once the trail is completed, Dallas residents and visitors will be able to walk or bike between their homes, hotels, the DART/TRE stations, or work places in downtown Dallas, Oak Cliff, Uptown, Design District, or Trinity Industrial District.
Katy Trail Cienda Partners is a financial supporter of the Katy Trail, a pedestrian and bicycle path that traces the greenbelt along which the historic Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT or “Katy”) Railroad traveled through Dallas.
Dallas Museum Of Natural History A member of Cienda Partners sits on the Advisory Board of the Dallas Museum of Natural History and has played a leadership role in its fundraising activities. The mission of the Dallas Museum of Natural History is to further an understanding and appreciation of the natural world through collection-based research, education and exhibition programs; to further in particular an understanding of the biological diversity and natural history of Texas; and to preserve the collections for the enlightenment and enjoyment of future generations.
Enterprise
Cienda Partners is a supporter of Enterprise (formerly the Enterprise Foundation), a leading provider of the development capital and expertise required to create decent, affordable homes and rebuild communities, and a partner serves on Enterprise’s Leadership Council. Enterprise has raised and invested over $6 billion in equity, grants and loans and is currently investing in communities with governments, community organizations and others that share their visionat a rate of close to $1 billion a year .
Baylor Health Care System Foundation A member of Cienda Partners serves on the Baylor Health Care System Foundation Board of Directors. The Baylor Health Care System Foundation raises and manages in excess of $100 million in charitable funds to support the Baylor Health Care System, founded as a ministry of healing and existing to serve all people through exemplary health care, education, research and community service.
Crested Butte Land Trust
The Crested Butte Land Trust seeks to protect undeveloped land, view corridors, wetlands and wildlife habitats, and to preserve the local ranching traditions and access to public lands in the East River Valley. In addition to providing financial support to the Trust, Cienda partners own a home in Crested Butte and have provided a trail and conservation easement on their property.
Vision Trust International Vision Trust International supports nationals in third-world countries to build and operate schools and orphanages using a child-sponsorship model. A member of Cienda Partners has been involved with VTI as sponsor, short-term trip leader and advisor.
