La Fonda on the Plaza Garners Prestigious AAA Four Diamond Rating for the Tenth Year

Hotel also earns organization’s new Inspected Clean designation .

SANTA FE, N.M. (Nov. 2, 2021) —  La Fonda on the Plaza has once again been awarded the coveted AAA Four Diamond designation, a distinction the hotel has earned every inspection year since 2011.

AAA Diamond designations for hotels represent the overall quality range of facilities and level of hospitality offered by an individual property. Hotels that receive the prestigious Four Diamond rating are noted for upscale style and amenities enhanced by the right touch of service.

The diamond ratings are conferred after an unannounced visit and review by a professional AAA inspector, using updated member-centric guidelines, unlike other programs that leverage unverified, often biased hotel ratings.

In addition to renewing its Four Diamond status, La Fonda also earned the new AAA Clean Inspected designation by passing rigorous ATP surface testing, the same technology used to verify cleanliness in the healthcare and food service industries. This new step in AAA’s trusted inspection process provides scientific validation that hotel cleaning protocols are effective.

Opened in 1922, La Fonda is preparing to celebrate its Centennial year. It is not only Santa Fe’s oldest hotel but also the only one located on the historic Santa Fe Plaza, the center of the city’s shopping, nightlife, and art market scenes.
